Devon Levi Named Finalist for the Richter Award

GLOUCESTER Mass. - Northeastern University sophomore goaltender Devon Levi has been named a finalist for the 2022 Mike Richter Award, the Hockey Commissioner's Association (HCA) announced Thursday afternoon.
  • Levi has been one of the NCAA's top goaltenders all season long, currently ranking in the top three of goaltending stats with a .952 save% (1st), 1.52 goals-against average (3rd) and 10 shutouts (2nd).
  • In Hockey East play, he compiled a .951 save percentage, which is the second-highest single-season save percentage by a Hockey East goaltender in league history.
  • Levi backstopped the Huskies to a 21-9-1 record in games he started, making 30+ saves in 15 outings. Those 15 games include three 40+ save performances, and a career-high, program-record-tying 60 saves against UConn in February.
  • Devon collected numerous postseason awards from Hockey East, including the 2022 Rookie of the Year, Goaltender of the Year, All-Star First Team and All-Rookie team, and the PNC Bank Three Stars Award. Levi was also a runner-up for the Hockey East Player of the Year title.
  • Levi was named a Hobey Baker Top-10 Finalist earlier in the month of march. He's one of just three goaltenders on that list.
Since its inception in 2014, only one Northeastern goaltender has claimed the award - Cayden Primeau, who claimed the honor in the 2018-2019 season. Primeau finished that season with a 25-10-1 record, posting .933 save%, 2.09 GAA, and four shutouts.

Levi is joined by Quinnipiac's Yaniv Perets and Minnesota State's Dryden McKay in the final three for the 2022 Richter Award.

The Huskies take on Western Michigan in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday, March 25 at 12pm. Northeastern and WMU will meet at the DCU Center in Worcester - tickets are available at NUHuskies.com/tickets and the game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
