RALEIGH, N.C. -
The Northeastern baseball team (6-5, 0-0 CAA) once again took down No. 8 NC State (8-4, 0-0 ACC) with a score of 6-0 on Sunday afternoon in Raleigh, taking all three games of the series outscoring the Wolfpack 20-6. This is the first time NC State has been swept in non-conference play since 2006 vs. UCLA.

  • Northeastern would load the bases in the top of the second and close out with an unearned run from Mark Darakjy to take an early 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the second.
  • The Wolfpack would get two men on in the bottom of the second, but Northeastern would close out with a beautiful double play.
  • Corey DiLoreto would lead off the top of the fourth with a solo home run over the left field wall.
  • With 6-4-3 action in the bottom fourth from the Huskies defense, NU would escape the fourth leading 3-0.

  • Hoping to get out of the inning, NC State would make another pitching change after just eighth pitches.

  •  Wyatt Scotti pitched 7.0 scoreless innings striking out three batters.
  • Eric Yost would step on the bump for the Huskies, striking out a batter to finish out the bottom of the eighth.
