BRIGHTON, Mass. – Despite an early two-run homer, the Northeastern baseball team (14-14-1) fell to Boston College (13-16) by a score of 4-2 at Harrington Athletic Village in the 2022 Beanpot semifinals.

After a nearly three year hiatus, the Baseball Beanpot resumed play this season with Boston College hosting Northeastern and Harvard hosting defending champion UMass.

- Northeastern struck first in the top of the fourth inning – a leadoff single by Corey DiLoreto followed by a home run from Danny Crossen over the left-center field wall gave Northeastern the 2-0 lead.
- The Eagles responded in the bottom of the frame with a leadoff solo home run and an RBI single, tying the game at 2-2.
- BC took the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a two-out, two-run homer over the right field wall.
- The Huskies loaded the bases in the sixth and got two runners on in the seventh, both on two outs, but were unable to rally.
- The Huskies are 5-4 this season when tallying a home run.
- Northeastern is now 28-28 all-time in Beanpot games.
- NU got three innings of out bullpen pitcher Jordy Allard in his first start as a Husky – he allowed just three hits, no runs, no walks, and four strikeouts.
- The Huskies got one inning apiece from Dennis Colleran and Owen Langan (1-1) in relief. Each allowed two earned runs and struck out one.
- The duo of Jake Gigliotti and Eric Yost closed out the final 3.0 innings for the Huskies combining for one hit, no runs, and five K's.

BC will go on to face UMass in the Beanpot Championship next Tuesday, April 12. Northeastern will face Harvard in the consolation.

Northeastern will host CAA opponent Elon this weekend for a three game series at Friedman Diamond. First pitches are scheduled for 2pm on Friday, April 8, and 1pm on Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10. All three games will broadcast on Flobaseball with Friday's contest also airing on NESN+.
