PENNSAUKEN, N.J.— For the eighth straight season, the Northeastern women's rowing team won the title at the CAA Championships on the Cooper River on Sunday afternoon. The Huskies claimed 38 points overall and had first-place finishes in the first varsity eight and varsity four races to take home the crown.
Drexel also finished with 38 points, but the Huskies won the tie-breaker by claiming a win in the first varsity eight race to defeat the Dragons in come-from-behind fashion. The Huskies now own 11 CAA Championships all-time.
In the first race of the day, the third varsity eight placed second in a time of 7:00.64. The varsity four then took home Northeastern's first win of the day in the first scoring race. The varsity four took home first in the race for the second year in a row with a time of 7:29.04 to claim seven points.
Northeastern's second varsity eight then placed third, taking home 10 points, in time of 6:55.77. The Huskies finished just over half a second behind Delaware. Finally, the Huskies went back-to-back in the first varsity eight, crossing the finish line in a time of 6:30.69. With the victory in the first varsity eight, Northeastern claimed 21 points and the eventual overall title.

Joe Wilhelm earned CAA Coach of the Year honors for a conference-best ninth time.

Charlotte Kershaw and
Abbie Keane all earned All-CAA honors.
The Huskies will next travel to the NCAA Championship in Sarasota, Florida at Nathan Benderson Park from May 27-29.
