HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Northeastern University (24-21-1, 8-8 CAA) took down Hofstra University (21-20, 11-8 CAA) by a score of 13-1 on Friday afternoon at University Field to open up a three-game weekend series.

The Huskies got a stellar offensive day from the entire lineup, led by
Corey DiLoreto who finished the day four-for-five with three RBI, two doubles and a home run. The offense supported a strong start from
Eric Yost (W, 4-2), who went 5.1 IP with two hits, one run, and one walk allowed, striking out four.

- Northeastern started the scoring early with a solo shot from DiLoreto to go up 1-0 in the first inning.
- The Huskies put up their first crooked number in the third with RBI doubles from Jeff Costello and Corey DiLoreto, with a RBI ground out by Luke Beckstein to make it 4-0.
- In the fifth, JP Olson hit a ground out that scored DiLoreto to make it 5-0.
- The Huskies had a marathon top of the sixth inning that was kicked off by a two-run home run from Justin Bosland, his first career homer, scoring Danny Crossen who reached on a single.
- Northeastern tallied RBIs on doubles by DiLoreto, Beckstein, & Olson, a single from Luke Masiuk, and a fly out by Danny Crossen to make it 12-0 after six.
- Hofstra tallied a run back in the bottom of the frame on a ground out to second base.
- Beckstein tacked on another run in the seventh on an RBI triple, his first triple of the year, to make it 13-1.
- On the mound the Huskies saw relief from Jake Gigliotti and Jack Beauchesne – Gigliotti went 2.2 innings allowing four hits but no runs or walks, while Beauchesne took the mound in the bottom of the ninth allowing no hits or runs, walking one, and striking out the final batter of the game.
- Northeastern hit six doubles on the day, a season-high, and the most since May 15 2021 at Delaware.
- The Huskies are now on a five game winning streak, and have won their last five CAA matchups.
- Northeastern has now evened its record in CAA weekend openers to 3-3 this season.
