HYANNIS, Mass. - Northeastern University relief pitcher
Jordy Allard has been awarded the Cape Cod Baseball League's John J. Claffey Award, for the most outstanding New England player in the CCL, on Friday evening.
Allard, who plays for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, is 4-0 this summer with a .049 ERA in 12 relief appearances. He's fanned 21 batters this season and walked just four.
This comes after a strong first year with the Huskies where Jordy had a 4-3 record with two key post-season saves during the Huskies' 2022 playoff run to the CAA Championship game. The grad. transfer struck out an astonishing 58 batters in relief this season.
Allard is the first Husky to win the award since Aaron Civale, who also played for Hyannis in 2015, and is just the third Husky all-time to claim the title.
Jordy Allard was honored with the award ahead of Hyannis' playoff game Friday night, after winning game one on the road Thursday against the Cotuit Kettleers. The Harbor Hawks are making their first playoff appearance since 2018 and accumulated the most points in the regular season since that 2018 campaign. Joining Allard on the playoff run is his collegiate teammate from 2022
Mike Sirota, and future NU teammate Patrick Harrington.
