BOSTON— Head coach
Joe Wilhelm of the Northeastern women's rowing team has announced that
Iris Cotrupi and
Charlotte Kershaw have been named captains ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
"We are looking forward to having
Charlotte Kershaw and
Iris Cotrupi as our captains for the upcoming season," remarked Wilhelm. "Iris is entering her third year, after competing in the varsity eight in each of her first two seasons. She has a tremendous work ethic and brings incredible energy to the boathouse every day. Charlotte is entering her fifth year at Northeastern and has been in in the varsity eight the previous three years. She has a tremendous amount of experience, and is an extremely tough competitor. Each of these student-athletes set the bar very high for themselves and their teammates. We feel the combination of Charlotte's experience and Iris's energy will continue to build the positive culture of our team in 2022-23"
Cotrupi and Kershaw both rowed in the first varsity eight during the 2021-22 season, helping the Huskies to an eighth straight CAA Championship and appearance in the NCAA Championship. The duo will be tasked with continuing to build upon the championship culture of Northeastern women's rowing.
