Northeastern Set To Face Columbia, Rhode Island At Overpeck Park

BOSTON — The Northeastern women's rowing team shifts focus to Ridgefield, N.J. this Saturday, where the Huskies will race Rhode Island and look to claim the Woodbury Cup against Columbia at Overpeck Park. Action begins at 9:30 a.m. with the third varsity eight and concludes with the varsity eight at 10:50 a.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

  1. LAST TIME OUT: Coming off a multi-boat effort on the Charles against Boston University, the Huskies saw their third varsity eight take the top spot while the first and fourth varsity eights turned in strong performances right behind BU.
  2. CROSSING COLUMBIA: Northeastern and Columbia last met in the spring of 2025 on the Charles, with the Huskies earning runner-up results in the varsity eight and second varsity eight. NU also held the Council Cup over BU and added a second-place finish from the third varsity eight.
  3. ON THE RHODE(Y) AGAIN: The Huskies and Rams last squared off in spring 2024, a regatta that went well for Northeastern — wins in the varsity eight, third varsity four and third varsity eight, plus three additional runner-up finishes across the second varsity eight, first varsity four and second varsity four.

Northeastern is back on the water April 18 at the Lake Morey Regatta in Vermont.
