BOSTON – The Northeastern women's basketball team (6-7, 1-1 CAA) is set to continue CAA play at home against UNCW on Sunday, January 8. Tip-off is slated for 1 pm, and can be watched on FloHoops.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- DOUBLE-TROUBLE – Junior forward Halle Idowu had a career-high 19 points and 10 rebounds, picking up her first career double-double, and junior forward Deja Bristol also had a career day with a double-double of 14 points and a career-high 11 rebounds to lead the Huskies to a 71-57 victory over William & Mary on Sunday. Idowu scored 12 of her points in the second half, and Bristol had 10 points in the first half.
- TALE OF THE TAPE – The Huskies have dominated the Seahawks with a 21-11 overall record. Northeastern is 10-4 at home against UNCW, and 9-7 on the road. The Huskies have not lost to the Seahawks at the Cabot Center since March 9, 2013.
- IN THE CAA RANKS – As a team, the Huskies rank fourth in the conference in defense, holding opponents to 62.2 points per game. Sophomore guard Gemima Motema ranks second in the CAA in steals, averaging 2.2 points per game, and junior guard Derin Erdogan is fourth in field goal percentage (.449).
After UNCW, the Huskies will hit the road to face North Carolina A&T on Friday, January 13 and Elon on Sunday, January 15.
