Huskies Set For Saturday Showdown At Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. – The Northeastern men's basketball team continues its CAA road swing on Saturday when the Huskies battle Hampton at 4 p.m. on FloHoops.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. THE SERIES WITH HAMPTON
The Huskies and Pirates are meeting for the first time in series history, one of four opponents that Northeastern has played for the first time ever (Georgia Tech, UIC, North Carolina A&T). Hampton is 3-11 overall and 0-3 in CAA play so far this season.

2. DON'T LET HIM GET HOT
Junior captain Coleman Stucke has reached double figures in five of the 13 games he's played this season after doing so only four times all of last season, highlighted by a career-high 19 points against Manhattan on Nov. 24.

Stucke had a team-high 18 points and nine rebounds on Jan. 5 at William & Mary, finishing one rebound shy of his first career double-double. He's averaging 12.7 points per game and shooting 56% from three-point range (10-of-18) in conference play.

3. LEARNING ON THE FLY
While many teams across the country look to the transfer portal to fill out their rosters, head coach Bill Coen brought in six freshmen for the 2022-23. It's the most for the Huskies since the 2009-10 season. Northeastern has had at least two freshmen in the starting lineup in nine of the team's 14 games this season. The rookies have also accounted for 40% of the team's total minutes in 2022-23.
