BOSTON—The No. 7 Northeastern women's hockey team will begin the second half of its season against the Boston University Terriers on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 3 p.m. in Matthews Arena. The game will be broadcast live on NESN.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- A FIRST HALF SMASH: The Huskies ended 2022 with an 18-2-1 record. Northeastern's 18 wins were tied for the most in the country in the first half. Northeastern won the Smashville showcase in 2022, defeating then-No. 14 Princeton, 4-1, and then-No. 9 Cornell, 5-1. The Huskies closed out the first half with four straight wins over ranked opponents.
- EXTRACURRICULARS: Assistant coach Lindsay Berman is currently serving as an assistant coach for the 2023 U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team. The International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women's World Championship will take place from Jan. 8 to 15 in Ostersund and Brunflo, Sweden. Director of operations Melissa Piacentini was named an assistant coach for Team USA at the International University Sports Federation (FISU) World University Games. The World University Games are set to be held from January 12-22 in Lake Placid, N.Y.
- BIG DAWGS GOTTA EAT: Northeastern and the Terriers haven't faced each other since the 2021-22 season, where the Huskies went 3-1-0 against BU. The Terriers enter the matchup at 7-12-0 overall on the season and will face Holy Cross at Frozen Fenway on Friday before taking on the Huskies. Julia Nearis leads BU with 15 points off sevent goals and eight assists. Callie Shanahan and Andrea Brandli have split time in net for the Terriers this season. Shanahan owns a 3.11 GAA and .906 save percentage, while Brandli owns a 1.92 GAA and .942 save percentage. Brandli is a teammate of Alina Mueller's on the Swiss National Team.
Northeastern will next face Boston College on Friday, Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
