Hassman, Godish Lead Huskies At IC4A/ECAC Championships

BRONX, N.Y. — Senior Abigail Hassman broke the Northeastern record in the women's 6K and junior Ben Godish championed the men's 8K as the Northeastern women's cross country team finished first and the men's team finished third at the IC4A/ECAC Championships Friday afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park.

WOMEN
  • Hassman's time of 20:39.1 on the 6K course is the fastest time in school history, besting her previous time of 20:41.0 at the Penn State National Open in October of 2022.
  • The Huskies had three top-ten finishes and finished with 55 places as they won their fourth meet of the season.
  • Senior Ava Duggan finished second and ran a personal-best time of 20:47.7, making her the second-best runner in the 6K in Northeastern history behind Hassman.
  • Following Duggan was senior Azza Borovicka-Swanson, whose 20:53.1 time—a personal-best—was good for fifth place and bumped her to the fourth spot on the Huskies' 6K performance list.
  • Rounding out the top five for the Huskies were senior Isa Meyers (21:25.3, 18th place) and freshman Keira Gamily (21:43.8, 29th place).
MEN
  • Godish ran a 23:55.6, a personal best in the 8K, to champion the men's race. It's his second win of the season.
  • The Huskies finished third with Godish and senior Patrick Mullen grabbing top-ten finishes, taking 106 places.
  • Mullen's time of 24:08.1 was a personal best earned him eighth place in the meet, putting him at fourth among all-time performers in the event.
  • Sophomore Patrick Cantlon finished 16th and ran a 24:26.4 time. He is now sixth on the all-time performance list after that personal best.
  • Rounding out the top five for Northeastern were senior Malav Mehta (24:41.6, 37th place) and senior Patrick Cullen (24:52.0, 46th place).
This was the last chance for the Huskies to race before CAAs and NCAA Regionals, which means they will be in action Friday, Oct. 27 in Mechanics, Va. at the CAA Championships in Pole Green Park.
