Philips Tabbed Hockey East Goaltender Of The Month For September/October

AMESBURY, Mass.— Fifth year netminder Gwyneth Philips of the No. 13 Northeastern women's hockey team was named the Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Month for her play during September and October as announced on Wednesday.

Philips led the Huskies to seven victories and posted an NCAA-best four shutouts. Among goaltenders that have played in six or more games, Philips leads the nation and Hockey East with a .82 GAA and .966 save percentage.

The Athens, Ohio native has allowed just nine goals through 11 games played to start the season. Philips' nine goals allowed is the least among all league netminders that have appeared in more than two games.

This marks Philips' fourth career monthly honor from Hockey East.

Philips and the Huskies are back in action against UConn for their Barbie Land theme game on Friday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
