At last year's NCAA Cross Country Championships, Alexander Korczynski became the first NCAA Championship qualifier for the Huskies since 2014. He was one of 38 individual qualifiers and competed among the top runners in the nation, as well as in the mix with 31 teams of runners.
ABIGAIL HASSMAN
At this past weekend's NCAA Northeast Cross Country Regionals meet, Hassman placed fourth overall in the race with a time of 19:57.5. This was a new school record in the 6K, which led the Huskies to an eighth-place finish throughout the 37 other teams competing. The runner from Foxborough, Massachusetts was named the top American finisher in the event.
Hassman won the individual crown in the 6K at the CAA Championships for the first time this season as well and championed both the ECAC/IC4A Championships and Nassaney Invitational this season.
BENJAMIN GODISH
Godish placed seventh overall at last week's Regionals meet, running the 10K with a time of 29:51.7. The runner set a personal best in the event with his time and it places him at fourth on Northeastern's all-time performance list. The Highland Park, New Jersey native comes off a season in which he won the individual title at the CAA Championships for the first time in his career and took home first place at the ECAC/IC4A Championships in October.
This will be the final meet for Northeastern's cross country teams. The Huskies will be back in December for the start of the indoor track & field season.
