BOSTON – After nearly one month on the road, the Northeastern men's basketball team returns to Matthews Arena on Saturday afternoon when the Huskies host Old Dominion at 2 p.m. on NESN+ and FloHoops.
Â
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
Â
1. THE SERIES WITH OLD DOMINION
Northeastern and Old Dominion are meeting for the 16th time in series history, and first since 2020. The Monarchs hold a 10-5 series lead, which dates back to 2006, including each of the last three meetings. Northeastern's last victory came on Feb. 9, 2013 in which current assistant coach
Joel Smith and graduate manager
Jon Lee combined for 46 points on 12-of-24 shooting, 12 rebounds and seven assists in a 79-74 overtime win.
Â
2. REMEMBER US?
After seven straight games away from home, Saturday is Northeastern's first game at Matthews Arena since Opening Night on Nov. 6, a span of 26 days. The Huskies are one of just 31 teams in the nation who have played a single home game at this point in the season, and are 26-6 (.813) in home games against non-conference opponents dating back to the 2014-15 season.
Â
3. HUSKIES HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE
Fans in attendance at Saturday's game are encouraged to consider donating a new and unwrapped toy to the Huskies Holiday Toy Drive, sponsored by Northeastern's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Toys will be donated The Wonderfund: a private nonprofit serving children engaged with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. Donation bins will be located on the concourse at Matthews Arena.
