BOSTON – The Northeastern women's basketball team (4-4) is set for its last road non-conference matchup of the season at Holy Cross (4-5) on Sunday, December 17. Tip-off from Hart Center Arena is slated for 2 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- LAST TIME OUT – Derin Erdogan and Deja Bristol notched double-digits, but the No. RV/RV Syracuse Orange used a big second half to pull away from the Huskies on Monday, December 4 at the JMA Wireless Dome. Erdogan had a stellar night with 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting with five threes, which tied a career-high. Bristol tallied 16 points and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe.
- LAST TIME OUT VS. HOLY CROSS – The Huskies and Crusaders last met on December 3, 2022, with Holy Cross winning by a score of 60-55. In a back-and-forth contest, Erdogan led the Huskies with 13 points, recording 11 of them in the second half. She also had three rebounds and a team-high six assists. Northeastern had a big second half, trimming the Holy Cross lead to 57-55 in the final seconds of the contest after a three by Camille Clement, but the Crusaders knocked down key three throws to seal the win.
- THE OPPONENT – Holy Cross enters the contest with a 4-5 overall record, and is coming off a 66-63 loss to Quinnipiac on Sunday, December 10. The Crusaders won their 12th Patriot League Championship in 2022-23, defeating top-seed BU, 66-61 in the title game. Holy Cross finished its stellar season with a 24-9 record, and went 13-5 in Patriot League play. This season, the Crusaders are averaging 58.7 points per game, and are led by Bronagh Power-Cassidy, who is averaging 12.7 points per game.
The Huskies will close out non-conference play at home against Boston University on Friday, December 22. Tip-off is slated for noon, and will stream on NESN & FloHoops.
