BOSTON — Senior Abigail Hassman broke her own Northeastern program record in the 5K and five other Huskies recorded top ten all-time program marks as the Northeastern track & field team opened its indoor season at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener at the BU Track & Tennis Center Saturday.
  • Hassman ran a 15:56.99 in the women's 5K, finishing 43rd in the field of 183 runners. That time bested her previous school and CAA record of 16:17.59 that she set a season ago.
  • Senior Ava Duggan slotted herself in at number three on the All-Time Women's Indoor Performance List for the 3K, finishing with a personal-best time of 9:35.77. She won the third section of the race and took 52nd overall.
  • Senior Azza Borovicka-Swanson ran a 5K time of 16:51.55, making her the fifth-fastest runner in the event in school history.
  • Graduate student transfer Kerem Ayhan made his Husky debut on the indoor stage, placing second overall out of 46 runners in the 800 meters with a time of 1:50.00, making him the eighth-best Husky runner in the event all-time.
  • Graduate student Alexander Korczynski finished the 5K in 13:53.57, just .38 seconds off from the school record to put him at second on the All-Time Indoor Performance List.
  • Following him was senior Patrick Cullen, whose 5K time of 13:58.66 was good for third on the All-Time Indoor Performance List.
