Hassman Shatters School Record, Huskies Close Out Day One at Valentine Invitational

BOSTON – The Northeastern women's track and field program competed in the first day of action at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at BU's Track and Tennis Center.

Junior Abigail Hassman broke the Northeastern school record in the 5000m by over 18 seconds with a time of 16:17.59. It is the best time in the CAA this season by over half a minute.

Starting off the day, Isa Meyers came in seventh in the 5000m with a time of 17:25.41.
In the women's 60m hurdles, Anna Davis finished in fourth at 8.98.
Lucinda Shotts (2:10.45), Sarah Petersen (2:13.56) and Lauren Trejo (2:19.37) all competed in the 800m.
Ariann Robinson finished at 56.06 and Davis finished at 56.48 in the 400m dash.
In the 200m dash, Robinson finished at 25.26, while Claire Danyluk (25.38), Abigail Thomas (25.82) and Natalee Barber (27.86) followed behind.
Davis, Danyluk, Dominique Biron, and Robinson finished the 1600m relay in 3:52.83.
Ava Duggan finished the 1-mile run at 4:54.91, while Lucy Abdow (4:55.40), Vivian McMahon (4:55.47), Shannon Trevor (4:57.29) and Nora Blodgett (5:09.99) all crossed the finish line.
In the 3000m, Azza Borovicka-Swanson finished at 9:49.57 and Madison Neuner finished at 9:50.93.
In the field events, Biron finished fourth in the long jump at 5.87m and Ava Carry-McDonald was at 4.84m.
Madeleine Duchaussee led the way in the shot put with a mark of 12.63m. Following behind was Trinity Cardillo (12.36m), Caroline Afonso (12.14m), Kennedee Cox (11.80m) and Leila Curtis (11.74m).
Biron came in second in the high jump at 1.71m.
Trinity Cardillo led all Huskies in the weight throw with a mark of 16.42m. Liangie Calderon (15.95m), Isabelle Wiklund (15.78m) and Hope Belvit (15.01m) competed as well.

The Huskies will be back in action when the men compete in the second day at the Valentine Invitational tomorrow.
