THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. HISTORY IN THE MAKING: This year's Beanpot championship game will be the 106th meeting of Northeastern and Harvard all-time, and the 46th time they'll meet in the tournament. It's the first time in the 70 year history of the Beanpot that the two programs will matchup in the championship game.
  2. SENIORITY RULES: Senior captain Aidan McDonough is painting his name across the Hockey East leader board, leading in goals (13) and power-play goals (6). McDonough is the active career leader in NCAA in goals (65) and power-play goals (29). His career 120 points and 10 game winners are second among all active players.
  3. LAST TIME IN THE 'POT: In the 2023 Beanpot Semifinals, the No. 20/17 Northeastern Huskies took down No. 3 Boston University by a score of 3-1 at TD Garden on Monday night. Leading nearly wire to wire, the Huskies held the Terriers off the scoreboard for 58 minutes of the contest and sealed the victory with an empty-netter with 30 seconds to go. Northeastern notched three goals from three separate goal-scorers, with a total of seven Huskies tallying points in the game. Senior Aidan McDonough opened scoring 14 minutes into the opening period, followed by their second goal of the night 1:48 into the second period by Jakov Novak. After the Terriers cut the lead in half, Hunter McDonald tallied an empty-net goal, with 30.2 seconds remaining in the game,  for his first as a Husky. Novak collected an assist on the goal for a two-point evening. Devon Levi finished with 33 saves on 34 attempts - his record improves to 14-9-3 on the season. The Huskies as a team finished the night a perfect 4/4 on the penalty kill. It's the largest margin of victory for the Huskies over the Terriers in the tournament since the 2018 finals (5-2).
