No. 15/14 Northeastern Set For Series With UMass Amherst

BOSTON, Mass. -- This weekend the #15/14 Huskies are set for a home-and-home with UMass Amherst. Northeastern will head to Amherst on Friday evening (Feb. 24) before hosting the Minutemen on Saturday (Feb. 25) for their annual Skating Strides breast cancer awareness game.

Friday night's game is set for 7:00 p.m. and Saturday night's matchup will begin at 7:30 p.m., both on ESPN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. MANAGING THE MINUTEMEN: On the year, UMass is 10-15-5 overall and 4-13-3 in the conference. The Minutemen are coming off a weekend series against the Boston College Eagles that resulted in losses both evenings. UMass dropped 3-7 on Friday evening before falling on Saturday night, 1-3.
  2. LONG TIME HISTORY: Against the Minutemen, since their freshman season, captain Aidan McDonough leads with four points (2g, 2a), Jayden Struble has recorded two points (2a), and Jeremie Bucheler and Matt DeMelis have each tallied one goal. In their careers at Northeastern, Gunnarwolfe Fontaine holds four points (4a) in five games against UMass while Sam Colangelo (1a) and Justin Hryckowian (1g) each have one point in their careers over the Minutemen.
  3. MASTER LEVI: Netminder Devon Levi currently ranks number one in Hockey East with 12 conference wins and five conference shutouts against Vermont (2x), New Hampshire, Boston University and Merrimack. Levi continues to sit first overall in the conference with a .951 save percentage, second in the country (.933), and 640 saves on the year. His 1.71 goals against average ranks second in Hockey East. Levi is also the active career leader in the NCAA with a .943 save percentage.
