Biron Named Most Outstanding Field Performer, Huskies Finish Third at Inaugural CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Northeastern women's track and field program took third place in the inaugural CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.
 
Dominique Biron was named the Women's Most Outstanding Field Performer for her performance over the two-day stretch. Biron had a meet-high in points with 21.50 and earned the gold medal in the pentathlon and two bronze medals in the long jump and the high jump.
 
The Huskies earned a medal in each category today with a gold in the 4x800m, a silver in the 3000m and a bronze in the high jump.
 
In the 4x800m, the group of Sarah Petersen, Vivian McMahon, Ava Duggan, and Lucy Abdow secured the lone gold medal of the day for Northeastern, finishing at 9:00.62 to secure the title. The time ranks second in Northeastern history.
 
The silver medal came from Abigail Hassman in the 3000m, finishing at 9:36.82 to add on to the gold medal she earned yesterday.
 
TRACK EVENTS:
  • In the 1-mile run, Shannon Trevor finished at 5:05.46.
  • Anna Davis finished in the 60m hurdles at 9.01, earning a point for the Huskies.
  • In the 800m, Lucinda Shotts finished fourth and earned five points for Northeastern with a time of 2:14.95.
  • Closing out the meet in the 4x400m, the Huskies group of Davis, Abigail Thomas, Shotts, and Ariann Robinson finished fifth at 3:49.60 and earned four points for the Huskies.
 
FIELD EVENTS  
The Huskies will be back in competition for the ECAC/IC4A Championships at the Track at New Balance from Mar. 3-5.
