BOSTON— Senior goaltender
Gwyneth Philips of the No. 5 Northeastern women's hockey team has been named one of three finalists for the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association 2023 Women's Hockey Goalie of the Year Award.

Voting was carried out by a panel of coaches, administrators and members of the media from across the country. Philips is joined as a finalist by Yale University's Pia Dukaric and Minnesota Duluth's Emma Soderberg. The winner will be announced on Thursday, March 16, on the eve of the Frozen Four which will be hosted by Minnesota Duluth.

Philips leads the nation with 31 wins, a .83 goals against average and a .959 save percentage. The Hockey East Goaltender of the Year and First Team Hockey East All-Star selection, is second in the nation in shutouts with nine this season, tied for the third-best mark in program history. Philips ended the regular season as Hockey East's all-time career leader in goals against average (0.79) and save percentage (.960).Â

The Athens, Ohio native set a program record for single-season minutes played with 2033 and counting. Additionally, her 31 wins are a single-season program record.

The Women's Hockey Goalie of the Year Award was established in 2021 and Husky legend
Aerin Frankel captured both the 2021 and 2022 awards.
