Jayden Struble Signs With Montréal Canadiens

MONTRÉAL - Northeastern University blueliner Jayden Struble has signed an entry level contract with the Montréal Canadiens, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.

"Thank you to everyone at Northeastern for the best four years of my life," said Struble. "My time as a Husky has meant everything to me. I've had the best memories and times of my life here and can't begin to thank all of Husky Nation enough."

Struble was a crucial member on Northeastern's defensive core, appearing in 31 games for the Huskies this season. The assistant captain posted one goal and 11 assists for 12 points, second-best among Husky defenseman. Struble also blocked 33 shots during the 2022-23 campaign, the third-best mark overall on the Huskies' roster.

The Cumberland, R.I. native finished his collegiate career appearing in 104 games with 48 points from nine goals and 39 assists. In four years, he tallied 78 blocks, a plus-19 rating and one game-winning goal. He helped see Northeastern to two Beanpot titles, the program's first-ever Hockey East Regular Season Championship and a berth to the 2022 NCAA tournament. 

Struble will join former Husky and teammate Jordan Harris '19 who is a current defenseman with the Canadiens. Additionally, Struble is second Husky from the 2022-23 roster to sign with an NHL organization this post-season, with McDonough signing with the Vancouver Canucks yesterday (March 13).
