ORLANDO – The Northeastern track and field team kicked off the 2023 outdoor season with a pair of top-ten finishes at the UCF Black and Gold Invitational. The Huskies, with 18 student-athletes in action, will close out the weekend on Saturday beginning with the women's hammer throw at 10 a.m.

Ryan Sewell got the day started for Northeastern with a 12th place finish in the discus at 46.86m in his first collegiate outdoor meet.

Max Zuckerman recorded the Huskies' first top-ten finish of the day, recording a 4.43m mark in the pole vault to take 10th.

• In the 400mH,
Paul Wisnaskas logged a time of 58.01 to finish 13th overall in his first collegiate race in the event.

Ethan Exilhomme led the way for a trio of Huskies in the 200m, finishing 11th overall with a time of 21.26 seconds.

WOMEN
• It was Masai Russell's race in the 400mH, with Northeastern's
Anna Davis keeping up with the rest of the pack to log an eighth place finish at 1:02.22, one second out of a top-five.
