Coleman Stucke and Jahmyl Telfort Earn Conference Accolades

BOSTON – Ahead of the 2023 Jersey Mike's CAA Men's Basketball Championship, the conference announced on Thursday that Coleman Stucke has been named the Dean Ehlers Award winner while Jahmyl Telfort earned CAA Third Team All-Star honors.

The Dean Ehlers Award is given annually to both a men's and women's basketball student-athlete in the CAA who "embodies the highest standards of leadership, integrity and sportsmanship in conjunction with his/her academic and athletic achievement." Stucke is Northeastern's fourth Dean Ehlers Award honoree, joining Jon Lee (2012-13) and Caleb Donnelly (2014-15 and 2015-16).

Stucke has contributed in the classroom and in the Boston and campus communities throughout his time at Northeastern and in an elevated role on the court for the Huskies this winter. The junior from Ontario, Canada holds a 3.8 grade point average while majoring in Business Administration and Accounting. A member of SAAC and a team captain, Stucke is also involved in mentorship and other activities at Kings Hill Church. Stucke started 23 games for the Huskies in the regular season, setting new career highs in nearly every statistical category, including a 34-point game in January at Delaware.

"Coleman's a remarkable young man," said head coach Bill Coen. "He's all about doing the right things, and he's as consistent a student-athlete as I've been around. He has a pure heart, he has strong faith and he's an elite teammate."

Telfort, meanwhile, is fifth in the conference in both scoring (16.2 points per game) and field goal percentage (45.7%), starting all 29 games for the Huskies this season. The Boucherville, Quebec native has scored 20+ points in 10 games this season, including a career-high 31-point night earlier this year, and became the 41st player in Northeastern history to reach 1000 career points earlier this season, and 20th to do so in three seasons or less.

"Jahmyl is our go-to guy," Coen said. "He has the experience and he has the accomplishments. He's been terrific for us all year long, and he's a guy who gives us a chance night in and night out."

Stucke and Telfort will lead the Huskies in the postseason this weekend when Northeastern battles No. 6 seed Delaware in the Second Round of the conference tournament on Saturday. Tip-off at the Sports and Entertainment Arena in Washington D.C. is set for 8:30 p.m. and the game will be streamed on FloHoops.
