BOSTON - The Northeastern University baseball team (14-4) continues its home stand with a three-game series on Friday and Sunday, March 24 and 26 against Hartford University (1-9). The double header, originally scheduled for Saturday the 25th, has moved to Sunday to account for Saturday's weather.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- GIANT SLAYERS: In the past three seasons, Northeastern has a winning record (7-6) against teams ranked in the top 25 of the national polls. This season they are 1-0 in such match ups, defeating #16/17 Boston College by a score of 6-2 at Friedman Diamond this past Tuesday.
- NO PLACE LIKE FRIEDMAN: The Huskies have won four out of their five home games to start the season, outscoring opponents by a total of 30 runs (43-13) on the weekend. Northeastern is scheduled for 20 home games in the month of March and April this season.
- CONFERENCE BREAK:Â Northeastern, at 3-3 in CAA play, is in the midst of a non-conference stretch, facing an ACC school, two NEC schools, a former America East school, and an A-10 school before heading to Monmouth on March 31st.
After this series the Huskies have two midweeks before they resume CAA play - they travel to Central Connecticut State on Tuesday, March 28th, before returning home for a Wednesday bout with Rhode Island on March 29th. All home games will broadcast on FloBaseball, with Wednesday's start time scheduled for 3 p.m.
