Northeastern Heads to Stony Brook for Weekend Series

BOSTON - The Northeastern University baseball team (26-6, 8-4 CAA) will travel for their next CAA series, facing Stony Brook University (12-18, 4-8 CAA) in a three game series this Friday through Sunday, April 14-16 at Joe Nathan Field. The series begins Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. - all three of the weekend's games will stream on FloBaseball.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. WONDERKIDS: The Huskies got two big-time performances by two rookies in the span of four days - on Saturday, April 8, Aiven Cabral pitched a complete game shut out in a conference victory over Delaware. The following Tuesday, April 11, Cam Maldonado became the first Husky since the turn of the century to hit for the cycle, going 5-for-6 in an 18-11 victory at UMass.
  2. FAMILIAR FOES: The Huskies vs. Seawolves conference rivalry is back on after they were members of the America East conference back in the mid-2000s. Stony Brook is one of the three new CAA baseball members, and currently hold a 4-8 conference record, notching a win in every series they've played. Northeastern holds a 14-8 all-time record against the Seawolves, but Stony Brook took the last meeting of the two teams with a 10-9 win in game two of a double header back in 2005.
  3. RUNNING HOME: The high-powered offense of Northeastern has produced 13 double-digit scoring games this season, three of which have been 15 or more runs total. Northeastern is 13-0 when reaching 10 or more runs in a game.
The Huskies wrap up a stretch of road games with a ranked matchup at #20 UConn next Tuesday, April 18, before returning home for two straight CAA series against Hofstra and Towson.
