BOSTON – The Northeastern track and field program finished day one at the UConn Northeast Challenge in Storrs, Conn., and wrapped up competition at the Friar Invitational in Providence, R.I.
Benjamin Godish broke the Northeastern school record in the men's 1-mile run with a time of 3:59.18. While
Abigail Hassman broke the Northeastern school record in the women's 1-mile run with a time of 4:43.91.
UConn Northeast Challenge
- Kennedee Cox started the day for the Huskies in the women's heptathlon, posting a 15.42 in the 100m hurdles, a mark of 1.62m in the high jump, a first-place finish and mark of 11.88m in the shot put and 26.62 in the 200m dash. She will continue the heptathlon tomorrow.
- In the men's javelin, Diego Sanabria finished tenth with a mark of 56.32m.
- In women's javelin, Hailey Romero led the way with a fifth-place finish at 43.83m, the second-best mark in Northeastern history. While Dominique Biron followed at 39.59m and the eighth best in Northeastern history.
- Biron also finished second in the long jump with a mark of 6.07m, tied for third in Northeastern history.

The Huskies will be back in action tomorrow for the second day of action at the UConn Northeast Challenge.
