Northeastern Edged by BU in Council Cup

BOSTON— Under cloudy skies and near perfect conditions on the Charles River, the Northeastern women's rowing team returned home for the first time this season to take on local rival Boston University on Saturday morning. The Terriers edged out the Huskies for the Council Cup.

The second varsity four kicked off the day for the Huskies, placing behind Boston University with a time of 7:56.0.
The first varsity four, stroked by Peri Mishkin, jumped out to a lead over the Terriers and never looked back as they defeated BU in a time of 7:46.5.
Northeastern's second varsity eight fell behind Boston University early, but battled back and was just edged by the Terriers by four tenths of a second. The Huskies crossed the finish line in 6:50.2.
In the battle for the Council Cup, the first varsity eight took second to BU, with a time of 6:38.2.
The third varsity eight and fourth varsity eight closed out the day for Northeastern, with each beating out BU. The third varsity eight, stroked by Piper Larin, crossed the finish in line in a time of 6:56.5, and the fourth varsity eight, stroked by Elyse Szych, finished just behind them in a time of 7:01.2.

Northeastern is back in action on the Charles against Notre Dame on Sunday, April 16 with races set to begin at 8 a.m.
