Huskies Set Sights On Head Of The Charles

BOSTON— The Northeastern women's rowing team is ready to take on the historic Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday-Sunday, October 18-19, as the iconic race celebrates its 60th anniversary.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. DON'T MISS A BEAT: The Huskies' Club 4+ will kick things off at 1:04 p.m. on Saturday. Two Women's Club 8+ boats will continue the afternoon portion at 1:44 p.m. Day one will conclude with a reception at Henderson Boathouse (4-6 p.m.). On Sunday, the Championship 8+ will compete at 2:42 p.m.
  2. REWINDING THE REGATTA: At the 2024 Head of the Charles Regatta, Northeastern saw four boats in competition. On day one, NU's Club 4+ clocked a time of 19:17.631 to finish 20th, the Club 8+ A lineup boat finished with a time of 17:04.356 for 11th place while the B lineup recorded a time of 17:19.485 for 14th place. On day two in the Women's Championship Eights division, Northeastern raced to a 24th place finish, as Heather Taylor stroked NU to a time of 16:33.814.
  3. AT THE HELM: Ahead of the season, head coach Joe Wilhelm announced this year's leadership group of junior Sarah Kaputa and seniors Liv Oyen and Jorja Shemilt. This season's leadership group helped see the women's rowing team to their 11th-straight CAA title en route to making their 11th consecutive appearance at the National Championship regatta.
