Huskies Complete Day at Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational

DEDHAM, Mass. – The Northeastern track and field program competed in the first home meet of the season today at the Solomon Track and Field Facility in Dedham, Mass., for the annual Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational.

Northeastern tallied 14 first place finishes across the board on a successful first day at the home track.

Women:

Hailey Romero led the way for the Huskies in the javelin throw with a mark of 36.67m, while Kennedee Cox followed in seventh at 28.77m.
Dominique Biron finished first in the long jump with a mark of 6.05m. She was followed by Ava Carry-McDonald (5.17m), Mia Belanger (4.98m), and Natalee Barber (4.74m) all in the top-ten.
Carry-McDonald also finished third in the triple jump at 10.31m.
The Huskies took the top five spots in the shot put with Madeleine DuChaussee (12.76m), Leila Curtis (12.33m), Trinity Cardillo (11.88m), Kennedee Cox (11.55m), and Claire Kuzma (10.92m). Liangie Calderon finished seventh at 10.30m.
The top three spots belonged to Northeastern in the 1500m led by Azza Borovicka-Swanson (4:33.78) and followed by Shannon Trevor (4:33.97) and Silas Rutherford (4:42.97).
Barber came in second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.39.
Abigail Thomas took the top spot in the 100m dash at 12.83.
Ariann Robinson finished first in the 400m with a time of 55.88.
Two more top spots for Northeastern came in the 800m, with Lucy Abdow (2:15.43) and Lucinda Shotts (2:16.12).
First place in the 400m hurdles went to Anna Davis at 1:00.47.
Northeastern finished 1-5 in the hammer throw as well, with Gianna Rao leading the way at 56.91m. Following in order was Isabella Wiklund (56.18m), Hope Belvit (53.37m), Liangie Calderon (52.72m) and Trinity Cardillo (52.45m).
Belanger finished third in the high jump at 1.65m.
Abigail Thomas finished fourth at 26.42 and Carry-McDonald finished eighth at 27.90 in the 200m dash.
The Huskies had two groups in the 4x400m relay, the team of Ariann Robinson, Lucinda Shotts, Anna Davis, and Abigail Thomas finished at 3:57.58, while the group of Shannon Trevor, Lucy Abdow, Natalee Barber, and Silas Rutherford finished at 4:11.66.
Northeastern again owned the top of the leaderboard in throws, this time in the discus throw with Leila Curtis leading the way at 38.72m. Following behind in the 2-4 spots was Claire Kuzma (38.62m), Madeleine DuChaussee (38.61m) and Julietta Ambartsoumian (37.33m).

Men:

Ryan Sewell finished third in the shot put with a mark of 13.78m.
John Lung took first place in the long jump, recording a mark at 6.53m.
In the javelin throw, Diego Sanabria finished second at 55.15m and Paul Wisnaskas came in at 39.61m.
The top three spots in the pole vault when to Athanasios Pantazopoulos (4.40m), Max Zuckerman (4.40m), and Paul Wisnaskas (4.10m).
Caleb Burns finished in fifth in both the 110m hurdles (15.81) and the 400m hurdles (58.53).
Michael Stroup took third in the 100m dash at 11.17, while Joshua Kung followed in eighth at 11.61.
Nicholas Young finished first in the 800m with a time of 1:52.04. Ryan Dailor (1:53.19) finished in third and Daniel Caso (1:54.11) finished in fifth.
Phillips Magre gave the Huskies another first-place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 21.93, while Michael Stroup finished in third at 22.59.
John Lung finished first in the high jump at 1.88 and in the triple jump, Emanuele Dokyi finished third with a mark of 13.56.
Nicholas Pisciotta finished second with a season-best 61.95m in the hammer throw.
The relay group of Astor Meredith-Goujon, Nicholas Young, Daniel Caso and Ryan Dailor beat out a team from the University of New Haven in the 4x400m with a time of 3:26.13.
Closing out the day, Sewell placed fifth in the discus throw with at 42.48m.

The Huskies will be back to competition next weekend at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., from April 27-29.
