Huskies Wrap Up April Hosting Towson

BOSTON - The Northeastern University baseball team (32-7, 13-5 CAA) hosts the Towson Tigers (13-29, 3-15 CAA) for a three game series at Friedman Diamond this Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29. The teams will play a double header on Friday, April 28th beginning at 12pm, while Saturday's contest will serve as the team's senior day, honoring seven graduating members of the program, with a 1 p.m. first pitch.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. HOME SWEET HOME: Northeastern is in the midst of a six-game home stand at Friedman Diamond. The Huskies are 14-3 at home this season, outscoring opponents 150-49. NU has taken victories in every weekend series hosted in Brookline so far this year.
  2. THE LONG BALL: The Huskies belted eight homers last Saturday in a double header sweep of the Hofstra University Pride. That put their total on the year up to 74, which ranks 15th in the NCAA. Last week the Huskies were led by rookie Cam Maldonado with two 2-HR days on the week, breaking the program record for home runs by a rookie (9).
  3. WHERE THEY STAND: Northeastern comes into the weekend in second place in the CAA standings, 0.5 games behind UNCW (13-4) and one full game ahead of Charleston (12-6). The Tigers come in with a 3-15 record, 1.5 games behind Monmouth in 10th place.

The Huskies begin their long stretch of May road games with a midweek contest at Stonehill next Wednesday, May 3rd, followed by a CAA weekend series in Wilmington, North Carolina next Friday through Sunday against the UNCW Seahawks.
