Huskies to Compete in New England Championships and Yale Last Chance Meet

BOSTON – The Northeastern track and field program will compete in the New England Championships at the Solomon Track and Field facility in Dedham, Mass., this weekend, May 12-13. The Huskies will also send two distance runners to the Yale Last Chance Meet in New Haven, Conn., on Saturday.
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  • TRAVELING FOR DISTANCE: Patrick Cantlon will compete in the 1500m, while Patrick Cullen will compete in the 10000m at the Yale Last Chance meet on Saturday night. Cantlon finished sixth in the 1500m at the CAA Championships, while Cullen finished second in the 10000m.
  • BACK AT NEW ENGLANDS: The Huskies are back in the New England championships after it was held in Smithfield, R.I., last season. Dominique Biron won the heptathlon and Abigail Klinge set the fifth best mark in Northeastern history in the discus. Alexander Korczynski championed the 1500m and Reed Cherry set the fifth best time in school history in the 800m.
  • TUNE UP: This marks the last weekend of the season before a group of Huskies will compete in the NCAA East Regionals.
 
The Huskies will close out the regular season at the New England Championships and have athletes competing in the NCAA East Regionals in Jacksonville, Fla., from May 24-27.
