BOSTON – The Northeastern track and field team competed at the HBCU and Ivy Challenge earning multiple top-5 finishes, highlighted by freshman
Iolo Grants 60m Hurdle victory as well as Lola Satre Morales championing the 600m.
Women
- To start the day, the women competed in the Weight Throw event. Both Huskies that competed, senior Liangie Calderon and freshman Elin Rydqvist, placed in the top five. Calderon threw a 16.72, earning her a fourth-place finish. Rydqvist finished closely behind in fifth place, throwing 14.34.
- In the Long Jump, Husky freshman Ogechi Nathan took fourth place, with a 5.32 score.
- On the track, freshman Lola Satre Morales championed the 600m. Satre Morales crossed the finish at 1:32.10, with teammates Waverly Hassman (1:34.81) and Brittani Westberry (1:35.97) closely behind, taking second and third place. Sophomore Emily McCann finished in fifth place, with a time of 1:39.40.
- Back on the field, senior Leila Curtis took second place in the Shot Put. Curtis scored an overall 15.24.
- Junior Hannah Shaw took third place in the pole vault, scoring 3.60.
- In the 60m race, freshman Anaya Jones took sixth place with a 7.66 time and junior Victoria Knight (7.77) placed tenth.
- To wrap up the meet, the 4x440 relay team of Ailani Sutherland, Waverly Hassman, Emily McCann and Lola Satre Morales took fifth place, crossing the finish line at 4:00.69.
Men
- Three Huskies competed in the men's Pole Vault event: graduate student Max Zuckerman, freshman Nathan Epstein and junior Alex Yuen. Zuckerman took fourth place scoring 4.60, Epstein followed closely behind taking fifth place scoring 4.45, and Yuen finished in seventh place with a score of 4.30.
- In the High Jump, sole Husky freshman Shane Exilhomme competed and finished in fifth place, with a 1.95.
- Junior Aidan Moreau led the Huskies in the men's Weight Throw with a third-place finish, while sophomore Zackery DelSasso placed fifth. Moreau recorded a mark of 16.64 and DelSasso threw 16.11.
- Freshman Iolo Grant made his collegiate debut as well as earned his first 60m Hurdle victory, crossing the finish at 7.91. Fellow freshman Aiden Ray took sixth place with a time of 8.32.
- Ray also participated in the Long Jump, earning third place with a jump of 6.54.
- On the track, sophomore Taeshawn Berry came in second place, just 0.05 behind first.
The Huskeis are back in action Saturday, Dec. 6 at the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. The meet will be held at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
