Biron Named Most Outstanding Field Performer, Huskies Wrap Up at CAA Championship

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.— The Northeastern women's track and field team placed sixth overall out of 12 teams with 72 points on the final day of competition at the 2023 CAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Zable Field in Williamsburg, Va.
 
Dominique Biron led the Huskies, winning the heptathlon for the third year in a row and earning Most Outstanding Field Performer honors. In addition to winning the heptathlon, Biron also claimed a second-place finish in the long jump on day one of competition.
 
TRACK EVENTS:
  • In the 1500m, Ava Duggan earned a fifth-place finish clocking a time of 4:39.24, while Shannon Trevor claimed eighth with a time of 4:41.71.
  • Abigail Hassman posted a time of 16:34.11 to place fifth in the 5000m.
  • Ariann Robinson finished in eighth in the 400m with a time of 55.63.
  • In the 800m, Sarah Petersen clocked a time of 2:13.26, good for sixth-place. 
  • Anna Davis competed in the 400mH, posting a time of 1:01.15 to place sixth. 
FIELD EVENTS:
  • Biron continued her dominance in the heptathlon posting 5505 points to earn a first-place finish and gold medal. Kennedee Cox placed third for the Huskies with 4830 points.
  • In the high jump, Mia Belanger placed fifth with a mark of 1.65m.
The Huskies will compete again next weekend, May 12-13 in the New England Championships at the Solomon Track and Field Facility in Dedham, Mass.
