BOSTON, Mass. – The Northeastern track and field team kicked off the weekend at the NEICAAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, as freshman Madison Phillips competed in the pentathlon at The Reggie Lewis Center on Friday afternoon.
- Phillips finished eighth overall in the multi-event competition, totaling a new career-high 2,900 points.
- She began with the top ten finishes and new personal bests in the 60m hurdle (9.65) and high jump (1.49m). She followed with a third-place finish in the shot put after her opening throw reached 10.46m, also a new personal best.
- Phillips reached 4.60m in the long jump and concluded the pentathlon with a ninth-place finish in the 800m, running a 2:46.82.
The action continues for Northeastern as the men's and women's teams prepare for day two of the ECAC/IC4A Championships, held at the BU Track and Tennis Center tomorrow at 10 a.m.
