Mike Sirota Named ABCA/Rawlings All-American

BOSTON - Northeastern University baseball added another postseason accolade to the 2023 season, with star center fielder Mike Sirota being named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Third Team on Friday morning. Sirota was one of four Huskies to make the All-Region Northeast Team earlier this week - as a first teamer he was in the running for an All-America selection by the ABCA.

After missing the second half of his freshman season with an injury, Sirota returned with an incredible sophomore year making an impact in every facet of the game for the Huskies. He finished the season tied for a team-high 18 home runs, bringing in 54 RBI, and scoring a school record 73 runs on the year. Sirota went .346 in 55 appearances, all starts, with nine doubles, four triples, and 19 stolen bases. Defensively, the center fielder commanded the outfield, leading all NU outfielders with 131 putouts, third-most on the team, and five outfield assists, posting a .986 fielding percentage. Sirota was named to the All-CAA First Team, his second straight year with an All-Conference honor, as well as the All-New England First Team, and All-ECAC.

Sirota is the first ABCA/Rawlings All-American for the program since 2018 when Sean Mellen was also named to the Third Team. He's the program's 14th All-American selection, and the third this season with fellow outfielder Cam Maldonado and starting pitcher Aiven Cabral both making Freshman All-America lists.
