Women’s Rowing Set for Henley Royal Regatta

HENLEY-ON-THAMES— The Northeastern women's rowing team is set to make its debut at the Henley Royal Regatta held from June 27-July 2 on the River Thames. The Huskies will be competing in the Island Challenge Cup (8+) and Town Challenge Cup (4-). All races are available to stream via YouTube.

The Henley Royal Regatta is widely considered the most prestigious rowing regatta in the entire world and was first held in 1839. Races are head-to-head knock out style over the six-day event on a 2,112-meter course.

The eight opens the Island Challenge Cup against a familiar foe in Radcliffe on Wednesday, June 28 at 9:35 a.m. ET. The four will take on the Molesey Boat Club in the Town Challenge Cup on Thursday, June 29, at a time yet to be announced.

Northeastern last competed in England in the Henley Women's Regatta in 2017. This marks the first year the team will compete in the Henley Royal Regatta.
