Huskies Celebrate 2024-25 Season With Year-End Awards

BOSTON — The Northeastern women's rowing team celebrated another successful season on Sunday evening as Head Coach Joe Wilhelm announced the recipients of the program's 2024-25 year-end awards.
 
During the 2024-25 slate, the Huskies claimed a 11th-straight CAA title and made their 11th consecutive appearance at the National Championship regatta, taking a 19th-place finish. Six Huskies earned All-CAA team honors, while a program-best 15 athletes earned CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Graduate student Windsyr Maughan was named the 2025 NCAA Elite 90 Award recipient for the second-straight year, while Wilhelm and the Huskies' Staff earned CRCA Region 2 Coach of the Year and Staff of the Year honors for the third-straight season.
 
Jack Grinold Boathouse Award: Charlotte Kershaw and Tess Miller
Assistant coaches, Charlotte Kershaw and Tess Miller, earned the Jack Grinold Boathouse award, an honor that is annually given to an individual or individuals who best exemplifies Grinold's outstanding and unwavering commitment to Northeastern Rowing.
 
Most Improved Athlete: Liv Oyen and Celeste Voutsinas-Klose
Liv Oyen and Celeste Voutsinas-Klose claimed the Most Improved Athlete award. Oyen and Voutsinas-Klose helped the Huskies secure the 2025 CAA title, competing in the second varsity eight and varsity four respectively, while also representing NU at the NCAA Regatta. Both athletes were named CRCA Scholar-Athletes at the conclusion of the 2024-25 academic year.
 
Outstanding Competitor: Stina Dewes and Heather Taylor
The Outstanding Competitor award was given to first year Stina Dewes and returner Heather Taylor. In her first season with NU, Dewes competed with the second varsity eight all season, helping them to a first-place finish at CAAs and to the C Finals at the NCAA Regatta. Taylor served as co-captain for the Huskies, rowed with the varsity eight and earned both CAA All-Conference honors and CRCA Division I All-American Honorable Mention.

Jeanne Rowlands Most Inspirational Award: Dalton Boyse and Hannah Dayian 
The Jeanne Rowlands award, for the most inspirational student-athlete is annually given to a first year and returner as voted on by their teammates. First year Hannah Dayian and returner Dalton Boyse earned the honor this season. Dayian helped the fourth varsity eight to the Eastern Sprints grand final this season, while Boyse helped lead the second varsity eight to a fifth-place finish in the C Finals at NCAAs.
