CARY, N.C. - USA Baseball announced its 58-man roster for the 2023 Collegiate National Team Training Camp this past weekend, with Northeastern University's
Aiven Cabral earning a spot on the roster. Cabral and Team USA will compete in four intra-squad games between Team Stars and Team Stripes, before a final 26-man roster is selected to compete in a five-game series with Chinese Taipei and Japan at the end of this month.
The intra-squad series takes place from June 25-28 at the USA Baseball complex in Cary, North Carolina, with the international friendlies taking place June 30-July 4. The National Training Complex will also host the opening three games of the 44
th USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Championship Series from July 7-9, while games four and five of the series will be played at Joseph Riley, Jr. Park in Charleston on July 11 and 12.
Cabral is coming off a very strong freshman year that garnered All-Conference, All-Region, and eventually Freshman All-American honors. He finished the year with a 9-4 record, a conference-leading 2.58 ERA, and a strikeout to walk ratio of 69 to 14 in 83.2 innings pitched.
