BOSTON— Northeastern women's hockey associate head coach
Nick Carpenito will serve as a guest coach for the 2023 Washington Capitals Prospect Development Camp from July 1-5 at Medstar Capitals Iceplex.
Â
Capitals Development Camp is an annual, week-long summer session with on- and off-ice workouts designed to help Capitals prospects improve their games and allow the Capitals to evaluate their progress. Carpenito will work closely with the Capitals' coaching staff during development camp.
Â
Since joining the Huskies as an assistant coach in 2014 and being promoted to associate head coach in 2018, Carpenito has helped guide the Huskies to six-straight Hockey East titles, four Hockey East regular season crowns, two Beanpot titles and three-straight Frozen Four appearances.
Â
In his time behind the Husky bench, 20 Huskies have earned All-Hockey East honors and seven players have claimed All-America status. Additionally, Carpenito helped develop five-time Patty Kazmaier Top-10 finalist
Alina Mueller and 2015-16 Patty Kazmaier award winner Kendall Coyne Schofield. The architect of the Huskies' power-play, Carpenito has led the unit to a top-three national ranking the past three seasons, including a program record 45 goals in 2021-22.
