BOSTON — The Northeastern men's basketball team announced their non conference schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season Tuesday afternoon, featuring three contests at home in historic Matthews Arena and eight on the road, as well as the three-game Pirate Classic at East Carolina in Greenville, N.C.
This season begins with an 8 p.m. tip-off at home against crosstown rival Boston University on Nov. 6, the 152nd meeting between the two. Northeastern holds a 76-75 all-time series lead over the Terriers.
The Huskies then go on the road for almost a month, playing at La Salle Nov. 11 and Harvard Nov. 14 before spending the weekend preceding Thanksgiving at East Carolina's Pirate Classic, the first multi-team event at East Carolina since 1986. There, they will play Kennesaw State, East Carolina and Georgia Southern over the dates of Nov. 19 to Nov. 21.
Nov. 25, the Huskies take a trip to New Jersey to play Princeton and stay in the Garden State as they take on Seton Hall Nov. 29, closing out the first month of the season. They return home Dec. 2 as former CAA foe Old Dominion comes to Matthews Arena and Dec. 6, the Huskies play host to Vermont for their final home game of 2023.
The next matchup for Northeastern is on the road at Virginia Dec. 16, who earned a fourth seed in last year's NCAA Tournament. This will be the first time since 1989 the Huskies play the Cavaliers and just the second meeting between the two squads.
After that, the Huskies close out non conference play with two New England road matchups. The first is at Central Connecticut State Dec. 19 and the second is at Rhode Island Dec. 30.
All game times and streaming information as well as the Coastal Athletic Association schedule will be announced at a later date.
