Northeastern Kicks Off New Year With No. 3 Quinnipiac

BOSTON -- Northeastern opens up the 2024 slate with a home contest against #3 Quinnipiac on Saturday, Jan. 6th, marking the second time the Huskies welcome the Bobcats to Matthews Arena this season.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. QUINNIPIAC ON QUEUE: The two programs have faced off only ten times in program history. The last time Northeastern squared off with Quinnipiac was in an exhibition game on Oct. 8, 2023, that resulted in a 2-2 tie and a shootout win for the Huskies.
  2. LAST TIME OUT: Most recently, Northeastern competed in the 2023 Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off in Milwaukee, Wis. The Huskies took second place, toppling Minnesota Duluth, 4-3 in overtime, to advance to the championship game against #6 Wisconsin. Sophomore Jack Williams led the team with three points in the tournament, followed by seniors Alex Campbell and Gunnarwolfe Fontaine and junior Justin Hryckowian who each tallied two points.
  3. HATTY HEROES: Forwards Alex Campbell, Cam Lund and Jack Williams have all tallied a hat trick through the first half of the season. Lund recorded the second of his career en route to Northeastern's 5-3 win over #1 Boston College, Campbell tallied his third career hat trick against Brown University to win 4-1, and most recently, Williams finished his first career hat trick with an overtime strike to secure the 4-3 win over Minnesota Duluth.
