Huskies Back At Home To Host UNCW, William & Mary

BOSTON – Winners of three of its last four games, the Northeastern men's basketball team is back at home this week as the Huskies play host to UNCW on Thursday night at 7 p.m. NU will then take on William & Mary on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. Both games at Matthews Arena will air on NESN+ and streamed on FloHoops.
 
Thursday will be Northeastern's Coaches vs. Cancer Game during Suits And Sneakers Week, a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Since 1993, this initiative has leveraged the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs.
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
 
1. SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THIS WEEKEND'S OPPONENTS

The Huskies and UNCW will meet for the 34th time on Thursday night, with Northeastern leading the series 17-16. The Seahawks have won each of the last three meetings, with Northeastern in search of its first win since 2020. The Huskies are 9-5 all-time against UNCW at Matthews Arena.
 
Saturday's tilt with the Tribe will be the 36th meeting between the teams in series history, with the Huskies holding a 19-16 edge. Northeastern has won three of the last four meetings, and each of the last two in Boston by an average of 23 points.
 
2. BUILDING MOMENTUM
The Huskies have victories in three of their last four games, averaging 71.8 points per game in that stretch, shooting 51.2% from the floor and outrebounding its opponents by nearly 10 boards per game. Four Huskies are averaging double figures over the last two weeks, led by Chris Doherty's 15.3 points per game. 
 
3. KING ME
Rashad King has become one of Northeastern's most reliable assets in 2023-24, averaging 8.3 points per game, up from his 2.9 ppg average last season. King, who's reached double figures six times this season, recorded a career-high 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting last weekend at Elon, and is shooting 65% in his last four games.
