Northeastern Set To Host No. 6 Maine In First Home Series

BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern Men's Hockey team hosts No. 6 Maine during Family & Friends Weekend at Matthews Arena this Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26. Both games can be streamed on ESPN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. LAST TIME OUT: Last weekend, the Huskies faced off against No. 1 Denver in their first road series of the year. In back-to-back games, NU saw a second period tally from assistant captain Cam Lund and a mid-final frame goal from sophomore Dylan Hryckowian. Lund and Hryckowian are two of the three top scoring returners from last season after recording 30 and 34 points, respectively. The duo finished the 2023-24 year just behind former captain Justin Hryckowian (43), Alex Campbell (42) and current captain Jack Williams (36).
  2. SCORING DEFENSE: Just over a third of Northeastern's scoring has come from its defensive core. As a collective group, the Huskies' blueliners have recorded eight points from one goal and seven assists. Freshman Jack Henry has earned a spot on NU's top defensive line, alongside Vinny Borgesi, and already has tallied his first collegiate point with an assist in his debut game.
  3. FACING THE BLACK BEARS: Against the Black Bears, the Huskies are 16-3-1 in their last 20 outings, outscoring Maine 72-45. Among those 16 victories included two victories in the 2019 Hockey East quarterfinals and two shutouts. During their careers in the Northeastern sweater, junior Cam Lund leads all Huskies with five points against Maine with one goal and four assists. Following Lund is Maine native, Jack Williams, who has tallied one goal and three assists.
