BOSTON – The Northeastern University baseball team welcomed 16 new players, 13 true freshmen and three DIII transfers, to its 2024 Fall roster ahead of the 2025 season.
The class includes seven position players and nine new pitchers, to combine with the 27 returners from a strong 2024 season.
"We are very excited about our incoming freshman and transfers for this coming year," said head coach
Mike Glavine. "We have a great blend of athletic position players and talented pitchers. We feel this group addresses areas of immediate need but also builds for the future. This is a great mix of experienced talent and young players. They are a great fit for our program and team culture."
AJ Aschettino – Freshman – Infielder – Miller Place, N.Y. – Rocky Point / Nashua Silver Knights
Bringing in a plethora of All-League, All-Country, and MVP honors from high school, Aschettino joins the Huskies from Long Island this fall. The two-sport high school athlete lettered in baseball and football at Rocky Point, and was named the schools Male Athlete of the Year. Played his summer ball in 2024 with Nashua, notching 21 hits in 19 games with five RBIs and five steals.
Andrew Basel – Freshman – Right-Handed Pitcher – Mineola, N.Y. – Mineola / Sag Harbor Whalers
Another Long Island product, Basel spent his springs with Mineola High and Team Francisco academy, while also pitching 13.1 innings this summer in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League with Sag Harbor – struck out 12 batters in five appearances for the Whalers
Carter Bentley – Freshman – Outfielder – Westborough, Mass. – The Rivers School / Brockton Rox
A two-time ISL All-League honorable mention and 2024 Gold Glove award winner, Bentley joins the outfield corp from The Rivers School. He showed his two-way ability this summer, throwing 8.2 innings for the Brockton Rox of the FCBL, while also hitting posting a .300 batting average with 12 hits and five RBIs.
Eric Cha – Freshman – First Base – Harrington, N.J. – Rabun Gab-Nacoochee School
First baseman
Eric Cha joins the Huskies from Harrington New Jersey and Rabu Gap-Nacoochee School. He was named a 2024 Carolina Athletic Association (CAA) Conference Player of the Year, and also won First-Team All-State and All-Conference honors in 2024.
Angel Cruz – Freshman – Right-Handed Pitcher – San Juan, Puerto Rico – Colegio San Ignacio de Loyla
A freshman righty from Puerto Rico,
Angel Cruz brings international team experience to the Huskies, playing for the scout team and national team for Puerto Rico. In his pre-college career, he earned five Pitcher MVP awards and a Youth Double A Final Series MVP.
Henry DiGiorgio – Freshman – Infielder – Franklin, Mass. – Franklin / Worcester Bravehearts
Former Franklin High and Nokona Baseball standout
Henry DiGiorgio joins the Huskies after a summer in Worcester with the Bravehearts, where he had 23 hits, two doubles, and 12 RBIs in the FCBL. Was also named a Hockomock League All-Star.
Will Fosberg – Freshman – Catcher – Natick, Mass. – Natick / Nashua Silver Knights
A multi-time Bay State and Metro West Daily News All-Star,
Will Fosberg joins the Huskies after a pair of summers playing for the Nashua Silver Knights. This past summer, Fosberg tallied 22 hits for the Knights, with five doubles and 12 RBIs.
Max Gitlin – Grad. Student – Left-handed Pitcher – Los Angeles, Calif. – Flintridge Prep / Clark University (NEWMAC, DIII)
Making the short move from Worcester to Boston,
Max Gitlin was a four-year standout at DIII Clark University, where he totaled an 18-9 pitching record with a 4.21 career ERA, earning several DIII All-Region honors, and was named Clark's 2023 Male Athlete of the Year, and won the school's Fred Herbert Award in 2024 (Outstanding contribution to Clark University Athletics). In his time with Clark he struck out 180 batters and walked just 58. In his senior season, he held an 8-2 record with a 2.97 ERA. Also had six appearances on the Cape this summer for the Orleans Firebirds.
Jordan Gottesman – Grad. Student – Left-Handed Pitcher – Acton, Mass. – Acton-Boxboro / Endicott College (CCC, DIII)
A former Endicott Gull,
Jordan Gottesman adds another strong lefty arm to the Huskies' pitching staff. In his Endicott career he posted a 3.37 career ERA in 27 appearances. In his senior season, he struck out 108 batters, and walked just 22. He was named the 2024 CCC Pitcher of the Year, and was named an ABCA and D3Baseball.com All-American.
Cam Keaveney – Freshman – Left-Handed Pitcher – Exeter, N.H. – Exeter / Nashua Silver Knights
This southern New Hampshire two-sport athlete for Exeter High School is another lefty joining the bullpen this season –
Cam Keaveney played both baseball and ice hockey for Exeter High School, and also played Post 32 Legion baseball. He earned several All-State designations in both sports during his time with the Blue Hawks, and won a Gatorade Player of the Year award in baseball. Played his summer ball for the Nashua Silver Knights (FCBL), with 34 strike outs and a 2.03 ERA In 26.2 Innings pitched.
Michael Mack – Freshman – Right-Handed Pitcher – Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – Saratoga Springs / Hayner Barnstormers
Another new Husky from the Empire State,
Michael Mack was a four-year letterwinner at Saratoga Springs High School, and also played for the Hayner Academy Barnstormers. He also earned a Suburban Council Pitcher of the Year award in his pre-college career.
Ryan McCarroll – Senior – Right-Handed Pitcher – Clifton Park, N.Y. – Saratoga Central Catholic / Wheaton College (NEWMAC, DIII)
The third new Husky with DIII pitching experience,
Ryan McCarroll joins the Huskies from Wheaton College this season. In his first three collegiate seasons, McCarroll made 28 appearances for the Lyons, posting a 2.41 career ERA. In his last season with Wheaton, he held a 2.35 ERA in 57.1 innings of work, going 7-2 in 10 starts on the year. Earned a NEWMAC Player of the Year designation and a two DIII All-American nods. Had one Cape Cod League appearance in 2024 with the Falmouth Commadores.
Brett Mulligan – Freshman – Right-Handed Pitcher – Quincy, Mass. – Catholic Memorial / Brockton Rox
This former Catholic Memorial Knight was a Boston Herald and Boston Globe Scholastic team member, and a two-time Catholic Conference All-Star.
Brett Mulligan spent three seasons with Catholic Memorial, and also played for the MDB Knights from 2022-23. The righty also made five appearances for Brockton (FCBL) this summer, striking out 12 batters in 13.2 innings of work.
Andrew Rogovic – Freshman – Right-Handed Pitcher – Rye Brook, N.Y. – Blind Brook / Nashua Silver Knights

Andrew Rogovic joins the Huskies from Rye Brook, New York. The former Westchester Academy pitcher joined Nashua this summer and made seven appearances, two starts.
Anthony Ruggiero – Freshman – Outfielder – Mendon, Mass. – Nipmuc Regional / Nashua Silver Knights
A high school standout for Nipmuc,
Anthony Ruggiero will bolster the 2024 outfield corps for Northeastern. He earned the Career Athlete and Conference Player of the Year award at Nipmuc, while making the All-Nipmuc team. This summer for the Nashua Silver Knights, Ruggiero tallied nine hits, including a double and two triples, and three RBIs, while swiping four bags.
Cooper Tarantino – Freshman – Catcher/First Base – Sudbury, Mass. – Lincoln-Sudbury
A former Daul County All-League baseball and football player,
Cooper Tarantino joins the Huskies from Lincoln-Sudbury High School. When not playing high school ball, he spent three years working with Relay For Life.
