BOSTON— The Northeastern women's hockey team is set to face the New Hampshire Wildcats for a home-and-home series beginning on the road on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. The Huskies will then host UNH for game two in Matthews Arena on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.
Both games will stream live on ESPN+.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- THE ELO EXPRESS: Freshman Éloïse Caron has posted four goals and six assists for 10 points in her first nine games in the NCAA. Caron was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Month for September/October after her start. The award marks Caron's first monthly honor. Her 10-points rank tied for third nationally among all freshmen, while her six assists rank second nationally among all freshmen.
- GOING FOR THE KILL: The Huskies penalty kill continues to be one of the best in the nation. Northeastern owns a .938 penalty killing percentage, the fourth-best mark in the NCAA. Northeastern has killed off 19-straight power-play opportunities for opponents. The last power-play goal the Huskies allowed was against Quinnipiac on an empty-net goal on Oct. 5. Of the two power-play goals the Huskies have allowed, only one came with a goaltender in net.
- DAWGS VS. CATS: New Hampshire owns a 4-3-1 record this season and most recently defeated Vermont, 3-2. The two teams are meeting for the first time since Northeastern defeated UNH, 4-1, in the Hockey East Semifinals. Lily Shannon scored twice against the Wildcats in the game, including the game-winning goal. In four meetings last season, two games went to overtime and three games were decided by one goal. Chavonne Truter and Brooke Hammer lead the Wildcats with five points each. In goal, Sedona Blair has started seven games and owns a 2.00 GAA and .924 save percentage.
Northeastern will next take on Connecticut on the road on Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m.
