BOSTON – The Northeastern women's basketball team (1-5) is set for its last road matchup in 2024, facing UMass (2-5) on Thursday, December 5 at 6 p.m. The game will stream on NESN and ESPN+.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- LAST TIME OUT – Abby Jegede tallied a team-high 19 points, but a basket with seven seconds to go proved to be the difference as the Huskies fell to the LIU Sharks on Sunday afternoon. Jegede had a strong day, shooting 8-of-10 from the floor with a career-high eight rebounds and three steals. Maddie Vizza and Taylor Holohan also notched double-digit performances for the Huskies. Vizza tallied 15 points, all of which came from deep. Holohan had a career-high 10 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
- IN THE CAA RANKS – Jegede ranks 12th in the conference with 76 total points, averaging 12.7 per game. The Toronto, Canada native is also fifth in free throw percentage (.750). Vizza, is fifth in the CAA with 12 three-pointers, averaging 2.0 per game.
- THE MINUTEWOMEN – UMass is coming off a close 57-53 loss to Siena on Sunday. In the defeat, Megan Olbrys tallied a career-high 21 points and added 11 rebounds, picking up her first career double-double. The Minutewomen are averaging 59.7 points per game, and 38.4 rebounds per game. Olbrys paces the offense with 91 total points, averaging 13.0 per game.
After UMass, the Huskies will host Stonehill in their Boston Public Schools Day game on December 18 at 11 a.m.
