Northeastern To Close Home Slate With UConn

BOSTON — The Northeastern men's hockey team is set for their final home-and-home series of the season as they take on the UConn Huskies. During Friday night's home matchup, NU will honor the 2024 graduating class prior to puck drop.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. HUSKIES VS. THE OTHER HUSKIES: Against UConn, Northeastern holds the advantage overall with a 16-8-0 record, outshooting their opponent 94-53. During the 2023-24 slate, Northeastern faced UConn three times, going 2-1-0 that included a victory in the 2023 Frozen Fenway event.
  2. 27-29 CONNECTION: Two members of Northeastern's top line have formed quite the connection this season. Following senior Alex Campbell's second goal on Saturday against #9 Maine, assisted solely by linemate Justin Hryckowian, the forward duo has now connected for a goal nine times on the year. The Huskies are currently 9-5-0 when either Campbell or Hryckowian tally a goal during the 2023-24 stint. Additionally, both skaters lead the Huskies in goals and assists as Campbell has recorded a team-high 18 goals and Hryckowian has a team-high 23 assists.
  3. HUSKIES ON TOP: After last weekend's victory over the Black Bears, Northeastern has now recorded five wins against Top-10 opponents, including a road win over #1 Boston College, two wins over #3 Boston University, and two wins over, then #6/5 and #9, Maine. The last time Northeastern tallied five Top-10 upsets was during the 2015-16 season. During the regular season, the Huskies beat #9 Harvard, before going on to defeat #10 Notre Dame (twice), #5 Boston College and #8 UMass Lowell in the Hockey East tournament en route to the program's second Hockey East tournament title.
