Huskies Opens Beanpot Tournament With Rematch Against Harvard

BOSTON — The Northeastern Huskies take a break from Hockey East action to gear up for the 71st annual Beanpot. Northeastern will take on Harvard in the semifinal round at 5 p.m. on NESN.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. THE WHITEY WALL: Freshman netminder Cameron Whitehead has continued to be a strong presence in net for Northeastern. With 11 wins on the season, tied for fourth in Hockey East, the Ontario native has tallied 659 saves for a .911 save percentage. Additionally, his 434 league saves rank third in Hockey East action.
  2. O CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN: Captain Justin Hryckowian is nothing short of making an impact on this Huskies' team. The junior currently leads the Huskies with a plus-14 rating, while his league plus-ten rating is tied for seventh overall in Hockey East play. Among all skaters who have taken a minimum of 150 faceoffs this year, Hryckowian leads Hockey East with a 65.8 faceoff percentage, from a league-high 181 faceoff wins, and is good for the second best mark in the country with a 64.4 faceoff percentage.
  3. JACK ATTACK: Sophomore Jack Williams has been hot as of late, acting as the nation's leading scorer since Thanksgiving (Nov. 25) with 28 points (13g, 15a) in his last 16 games. He leads the Huskies with 30 points from 14 goals and 16 assists and currently stands as the only Husky to record at least one point in every win this season, totaling 20 points (9a, 11a)  in all NU victories.
